A new adaptation for 2017

In this performance Sam Weller comes out of retirement (from ‘The Pickwick Papers’) and takes you on an irreverent journey through the London streets to tell you the stories of the people he meets. 

Written the year after ‘A Christmas Carol’, ‘The Chimes’ again uses a fairytale with wonderfully contrasted characters to highlight the divide between rich and poor. It tells the story of the poor man Toby Veck (a street porter) and his daughter Meg (a seamstress). 

It is a moving and heartwarming tale.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL

The ghosts of Christmas, Past, Present and Future visit Scrooge the old miser, and show him a series of visions, as he was, as he is now, and as he will be. The result of this is that Scrooge changes his life. A wonderful performance.
In den Weihnachtsnächten erscheinen dem alten Geizhals Scrooge die Geister der Vergangenheit, der Gegenwart und der Zukunft. Sie zeigen ihm, wie er als kleiner Junge war, wie er heute ist und wie er enden wird, wenn er weiterlebt wie bisher. Der Blick in die verschiedenen Welten verändert Scrooge nachhaltig. Der Storyteller Robert MacCall lässt auf lebendige Weise die Dicken'sche Weihnachtsgeschichte vor Ihren Augen erstehen.
Sonderangebot für Sprachkurse und Schulklassen: SprachschülerInnen (jeden Alters) dürfen zum ermäßigten Preis kommen, ab vier SchülerInnen darf ein/e LehrerIn gratis mit - nur mit Anmeldung bei rika.tjakea@kulturhaus-eppendorf.de. Schulklassen und größere Gruppen, z.B. Englisch-Stammtische dürfen gern nach Gruppenpreisen fragen.

MR PICKWICK’S CHRISTMAS

Mr Pickwick, and his friends travel by stagecoach to enjoy an exuberant country Christmas at Dingley Dell. There is a wedding, any amount of eating and drinking, dancing, games,  skating, and a ghost story. All the delights of an age long past, brought vividly to life.

Inspired by the public readings of Dickens himself this one man show, adapted and performed by storyteller Robert MacCall captures all the zest and humour of the original.

A wonderful evening is guaranteed for all. Suitable for all from 9 upwards.

Das Duo FEINSLIEB begibt sich auf seinen musikalischen Pfaden weit in die Vergangenheit. Rika Tjakea (Gesang und Kleinigkeiten) und Fabio Malaguti (Gitarre, Bouzouki, Gesang).
Heute gibt es ein englisches Programm von schönen alten Volksliedern bis hin zu Kunstlied-Klassikern von Thomas Morley und John Dowland.
